Spatial Intel is in our fourth consecutive year serving as a remote sensing and GIS consultant to a major Insurance Company seeking to further understand the capabilities, benefits, applications and cost of technology and services to improve disaster assessment and response, improve business practices and customer service. Spatial Intel has provided education, awareness and pre-qualification of service providers and technology to support information gathering and data analysis to support these desires.

Creation of an automated image analysis / feature classification specification will facilitate the selection of a contractor to establish parameters and protocols to assess implementation of the technology. In addition to specific applications and needs of the client we serve as a “go-to” resource for industry and technology updates, contractor services and capabilities as well as internal education of client staff to assist in promoting the benefits and applicable uses of the technology.

We continue to assist with the following technologies and services:

Education and awareness of current remote sensing (data gathering) technology inclusive of digital and satellite imagery, Multi and hyper spectral, LiDAR, Radar, IFSAR.

Education around capabilities and uses of each specific to resolution, cost, availability, known providers, plusses and minuses.

Education and assessment of change analysis / feature extraction software based on varying inputs and resolutions including, qualification of providers, capabilities, future improvements, cost, turn-around time, etc.

Awareness and education of remotely sensed datasets currently being collected and / or planned for collection by federal and private agencies which will serve to further reduce costs and improve the potential for implementation.

In general we serve as the client’s eyes and ears to the remote sensing and GIS industry by providing clarity and non-biased information and opinion.

Significant progress in matching internal needs with technology and providers has proven to save money, gain company acceptance of the program and greatly improve the potential for success.
